JessicaJessica Ann Simpson Johnson was born on July 10, 1980. (1) She is an American singer, actress and charity worker. After singing in the church choir as a child, Simpson signed with Columbia Records in 1997, aged seventeen. Her first studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999) sold over two million copies across the United States and saw the commercial popularity of the single "I Wanna Love You Forever". Simpson altered her appearance to be more mature on her sophomore studio album Irresistible (2001). The album's title track was her second number one hit on the Billboard Hot 100. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) had certified the album as gold. This Skin (2003) was her third studio album. It sold 3 million copies in the United States. Simpson was well-known for her relationships with Nick Lachey and her marriage to Nick Lachey. Simpson also appeared on the reality television show on MTV, Newlyweds, Nick and Jessica, between 2003 and 2005. After the release of her debut Christmas album ReJoyce The Christmas Album (2004), which was certified gold, Simpson made her film debut as Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). For the film's soundtrack, she also sang a cover version of "These boots are made to Walk" She released her fifth studio album, A Public Affair, in 2006 and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the month. Simpson started her career in country music when she released Do You Know (2008) which was her sixth studio album. Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005. It was a fashion-focused line with 34 product categories. To date, the company has generated more than $1 billion in revenue and is the highest-performing licensed brand for celebrities in history. In 2010, she played in the reality TV series The Price of Beauty. She also judged fashion shows during Fashion Star's two seasons in 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married Eric Johnson with whom she has three children.
